About the Project

An international organization is implementing the Back to School & Accelerated Learning Project to support out-of-school and dropped-out children aged 7–17 years in UC-23 Kuri of Islamabad Capital Territory. Through accelerated learning, the project aims to strengthen children's foundational literacy and numeracy skills and facilitate their successful enrollment into age-appropriate grades within the formal public education system.

To support this initiative, we are inviting applications from enthusiastic and committed educators for the position of Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) Facilitator.

Position Summary

The ALP Facilitator will be responsible for delivering structured literacy and numeracy lessons to out-of-school children through community-based learning centers. Facilitators will help learners build foundational competencies, monitor their progress, and prepare them for successful transition into formal schools.

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training on the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) methodology, curriculum, classroom management, learner assessment, and child-centered teaching approaches before commencing classroom instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver literacy and numeracy lessons using the project's approved ALP curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans and facilitate engaging, learner-centered classroom sessions.
• Conduct baseline, continuous, and endline learner assessments.
• Maintain attendance registers, learner records, and progress reports.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.
• Support learners with different learning needs and encourage active participation.
• Engage with parents and caregivers to promote regular attendance and learning.
• Coordinate with the Project Officer, M&E team, schools, and community representatives.
• Participate in all project trainings, mentoring sessions, meetings, and review activities.
• Ensure compliance with organization's Child Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and organizational policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree (minimum 16 years of education) in Education or another relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• Candidates with one (1) year of teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience in a school, tuition center, non-formal education program, madrasa, or similar learning environment will be preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Good command of Urdu. Knowledge of local languages will be considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and reporting.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

• Primary school teaching.
• Teaching foundational literacy and numeracy.
• Non-formal or community-based education.
• Working with vulnerable or marginalized children.
• Child-centered teaching methodologies.
• Community engagement and parental mobilization.

Previous experience in an Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) is not required. Candidates from UC-23 Kuri will be preferred.

Training

Before deployment, selected facilitators will receive training on:

• Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) methodology
• Project curriculum and lesson planning
• Learner assessment techniques
• Child-centered and competency-based teaching approaches
• Classroom management
• Child protection and safeguarding
• Record keeping and reporting requirements

Safeguarding

The organization maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse, sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment, fraud, corruption, and all forms of misconduct. Successful candidates will be required to comply with the organization's safeguarding policies and may undergo reference and background verification.
