Job Purpose:

The FFS Facilitator-Field Engineer will technically ensure the adherence to the standards of construction while leading implementation and monitoring of physical infrastructure related activities in a timely manner. In addition, s/he may be called upon to lead surveys, participatory needs assessments or any other activity that may be deemed necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Drawings, design and preparation of BoQs according of the project components.
  • Analyze infrastructural designs and BoQs proposed from community and Donor organizations and provide recommendations; assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  • Supervises the process and progress of the project through periodic visits.
  • Facilitate the project lead to compare the actual cost of the project with the estimates.
  • Assist the project engineer in analyzing equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  • Assist the project lead in collaborating with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Facilitate the project lead to supervise and support the technical team of the project.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Project lead and Programs coordinator.
  • Review feedback received from the field and ensure its standard as per SOPs for submission to the project lead.
  • Maintain close liaison with mobilization team and FFS members
  • Compile and submission of bi-weekly or monthly reports for all construction works
  • Any other assignment given by the supervisor according to the project need

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BSc /B-Tech in Civil Engineering and Technology
  • Overall 3-5 years of experience with at least 2 Years’ of experience in the humanitarian and development projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or other Civil Engineering software
  • Knowledge and experience in providing presentations and written reports
  • Good inter-person and communication, liaison and presentation skill
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

 Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to duty site and villages when required.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites
  • Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills
  • Good computer skills, ability to write weekly and monthly reports and data analysis.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill
  • Experience in closely working with livestock, agriculture department level is advantageous
  • Knowledge of PSEA, Protection & GBV, Gender & Inclusiveness in recovery context.
