Position Overview:
The Communications and Liaison Officer will be a key member of the organization, responsible for implementing an on-the-ground communications strategy. In addition to developing and managing communications content, the role will require close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This will include liaising with programme staff, technical teams, donors, partner organizations, and media outlets to ensure that impactful stories, branding, and visibility products are developed, disseminated, and effectively communicated to various target audiences.

The Communications Officer will work to enhance Inspire Pakistan’s position among donors, peer organizations, governmental bodies, and the public by showcasing the organization’s impact on communities, families, and individuals it serves.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the CEO, and work closely with the Programme and Project Team, as well as Field Coordinators to ensure alignment and effective communication across the organization.
  • Oversee the implementation of the project’s branding, communication, and visibility work in coordination with the CEO, programme, and project teams. This includes publications, website content, social media strategies, communication campaigns, and all project-related visibility to ensure effective reporting and compliance with the communication and visibility plan.
  • Prepare press releases and publications for various audiences, including government ministries, civil society, and the general public, ensuring the messaging aligns with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy for the project, managing campaigns, supporting the organization in building an online presence, and expanding outreach through digital channels.
  • Disseminate regular updates to internal and external stakeholders, including media, by drafting success stories, newsletters, fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Act as the focal point for all project communications, ensuring frequent reports and updates are provided to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external communication service providers to ensure quality and timely delivery of communications materials.
  • Liaise with donors, partner organizations, and other external stakeholders, maintaining strong communication and fostering partnerships that support the project's objectives and visibility efforts.
  • Identify and target relevant audiences for the communication of the organization's work and project progress, ensuring the messaging is tailored to each group.
  • Collaborate with programme and project teams to implement the communication plan, ensuring visibility at workshops, training sessions, public events, and other project-related activities.
  • Review all reports and communication materials to ensure compliance with donor standards, including donor reports, social media content, training materials, and event-related publications.
  • Support the planning and coordination of project activities, ensuring adequate visibility at workshops, training sessions, meetings, and public events.
  • Oversee the production of publications, including editorial direction, design, quality control, and distribution, ensuring content is aligned with the organization’s brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets to increase the visibility of the organization’s work and generate media coverage.
  • Support in the implementation of communication tools tailored to various activities and audiences, including training materials, event visibility, publications, social media content, and mass media campaigns.
  • Develop mechanisms for conducting periodic data verification to identify gaps in the visibility and communication plan, ensuring that communications effectively reach the target audiences.
  • Provide support in preparing six-month interim project reports, ensuring the communication strategy is reflected accurately and consistently across all deliverables.
  • Track public participation and contributions to the project’s communication and visibility products (CVP), ensuring engagement and feedback are incorporated into ongoing communications efforts.
  • Provide training or tutorials on communication and visibility guidelines to programme and project teams, external partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support knowledge management by maintaining an internal database of project-related communication materials and ensuring materials are updated and easily accessible.
  • Translate reports, texts, and materials as needed to ensure effective communication across language barriers.
  • Handle all social media and internet footprint of the organisation in collaboration with IT colleagues.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the communication and visibility objectives of the organization.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication, writing, and editing skills, with a proven ability to create compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing social media platforms and online content, including strategy development and campaign execution.
  • Proven ability to liaise with internal teams, donors, partner organizations, and media outlets to coordinate communication efforts and ensure alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a professional tone and uphold brand integrity across all communications materials.
