Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent (e.g., M.Com, MBA-Finance, ACCA, CA Inter).

  • Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in NGO or donor-funded projects.

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Support in consolidating project accounts and ensuring alignment with organizational financial systems.

  • Prepare variance analysis reports and highlight budget vs. actual deviations to management.

  • Assist in donor financial reporting in line with contractual and compliance requirements.

2. Budgeting & Planning

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes in coordination with departments and project teams.

  • Review project budgets for accuracy, completeness, and donor compliance.

  • Monitor budget utilization and provide timely updates to program and management teams.

3. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry in the accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, ERP).

  • Supervise bank reconciliations, ledger postings, and payroll processing.

  • Verify and approve vouchers, invoices, and expense claims as per policy.

  • Maintain updated records of fixed assets, payables, and receivables.

4. Audit & Compliance

  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and clarifications.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor agreements, and statutory requirements.

  • Strengthen internal controls and assist in developing/improving financial SOPs.

5. Cash & Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.

  • Manage petty cash and ensure timely deposits and disbursements.

  • Assist in investment decisions and bank relationship management.

6. Capacity Building & Supervision

  • Provide guidance and training to finance officers and support staff.

  • Ensure that financial procedures are well-understood and implemented at all project sites.

7. Coordination & Support

  • Collaborate with project and admin teams for smooth financial operations.

  • Provide financial data for proposals, donor queries, and management decisions.

  • Liaise with vendors, banks, and regulatory bodies as required.

Programme Development and Planning

  • Assist the CEO/DF and other senior management in the development and drafting of project proposals, preparation of mission operating plans / budget.
  • Assist in the identification of potential funding sources and ensure unit / project managers formulate project budget submissions and subsequent revisions in accordance with donor guidelines.
  • Support the involvement of all interested organizational members in the planning, development and funding of projects in which they have an interest.
