A national non-profit organization operating in Peshawar - KP, is looking for qualified, dedicated and experienced individuals to fill the following Positions for a donor-funded short-term project of WASH & Shelter, in Peshawar-KP.
Social Mobilizer / Hygiene Promoters -6 Positions (3 Male &3 Female)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Intermediate/Diploma in Public Health, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in community mobilization/hygiene promotion.
- Fluency in Pashto and Urdu; ability to engage with diverse communities.
- Training experience in hygiene practices (e.g., handwashing, waste management).
- Female candidates encouraged to apply for gender-balanced outreach.
Job Description
- Community Mobilizers/Hygiene Promoters will be primarily responsible for overall implementation of Hygiene promotion and community mobilization activities in target areas. They, will also assist the implementation team in performing the day to day project related tasks. They will also be responsible to;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, local organizations, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive community needs assessments to identify the requirements and priorities of both host and refugee communities.
- Implement community engagement strategies and plans to support project objectives.
- Facilitate community consultations to gather input and feedback on project activities.
- Ensure regular communication and information sharing with all stakeholders.
- Organize, Supervise and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and forums to encourage active involvement of target communities and create ownership among the target groups for the project activities.
- Implement community-driven initiatives to strengthen social cohesion and resilience within and between host and refugee communities.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on community engagement activities, progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Support the development of community-based structures and committees to sustain project outcomes.
- Ensure that feedback from the community is documented, analyzed, and used to inform project adjustments and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, and standards in all community engagement activities.
- Conduct protection assessments to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and protection needs of both host and refugee communities.
- Identify and manage risks related to community engagement, including social, cultural, and security risks.
