Position Title: Communication and Documentation   Officer

Program:          

         Information Knowledge Management

 

Sex:      Female

Purpose: This is a crucial function in Media, Public Communication, Documentation and Dissemination of publications. The publications are normally in form of policy briefs, newsletters, public statements among others, all of which aim at enhancing Pakistan relevancy, visibility and facilitating of learning among key stakeholders. Information management especially on the website, mailing list and the resource centre is very critical to this job.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance, advice and support of the Program Unit. You will be responsible for

  1. Prepare and Publish AwazCDS Newsletters and other publications through the print media and AwazCDS website
  2. Develop guidelines and standards for information management and for the websites.
  3. Provide Editorial Services to Awaz staff on publications or information materials that they are working on. 
  4. Develop work plans and budgets for the Documentation and Communication unit; submit them to the programme coordinator/Supervisor for approval.
  5. Update the AwazCDS website with current information focusing on the ongoing activities of the organization and news related campaign events, public policy debates etc. 
  6. Liaise with other information centres for information sharing and development in line with strategic objectives
  7. Lead in the documentation of results, lessons and impact from AwazCDS activities.
  8. Organize and management AWAZCDS information centre and publications in a very professional way that allow easy and convenient access to staff, AWAZCDS partners and authorized researchers. 
  9. Keep staff informed on the available resource materials especially those that are relevant to their work and research. 
  10. Collect, compile and update information needs of the organization
  11. Develops and maintains various communications channels and materials, ensures website contents remain relevant.
  12. Monitors media alerts and relevant publications
  13. Creates interactive social media contents and campaigns
  14. Produces needed content and script for educational videos
  15. Creates timely reports for all communication campaigns
  16. Identify information bodies for collaboration. 
  17. Facilitate and monitor the design and production of AWAZCDS publications and materials such as research products, best practices, brochures, newsletters, annual reports etc
  18. Any other activity that Staff/Supervisor/Manager/Chief Executive Direct may determine.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and various social media applications
  • Knowledge in social media strategies
  • Creative, innovative, and detail-oriented
  • Graphic design skills a plus
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills with commitment to AwazCDS values and working styles.
  • Good networking, facilitation and co-ordination skills
  • Good skills in presentation, public speaking , documentation and information management

Experience:

  • Good grasp of Human Rights and Women related issues including Violence and advocacy in regional integration, Human Rights policies and their implications to the local community and people’s livelihoods. 
  • Experience Communications and Documentation 
  • Good Presentation and public speaking skills 
  • Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Good motivator of others
  • Willing to work additional hours at crucial times
  • Personal integrity.

Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms with all levels of Management and community. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to balance the organization need and staff needs. Ability to handle and meet assigned deadlines. Working knowledge of various computer applications and software. Familiarity with social, cultural, and geographical contexts.
