“Building Resilience through Improved Food & Nutrition Security in Punjab, KP and Baluchistan”

INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND:
Farmers Development Organization (FDO) is registered with SECP as a non-profit company under Section 42 of the Multan Ordinance 1984 (Registration No. 86650) and certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy. FDO is also a member of several civil society networks including Scaling up Nutrition-Civil Society Alliance (SUN-CSA), Peace & Justice Network, FAFEN, and National Humanitarian Network Pakistan. FDO works in southern Punjab according to participatory principles, supporting hundreds of farmers, women, and communities in the areas of livelihood security, institutional development, emergency relief, and physical infrastructure.
Welthungerhilfe (WHH) was established in 1962, It is today one of the largest private organizations working in development cooperation and humanitarian aid across the globe. The organization is non-profit-seeking, non-partisan, and non-denominational donations from the population at large. WHH receives grants from the Federal German Government, the European Union, and the United Nations for International Development. In Pakistan, WHH is working in three key thematic areas including humanitarian aid, food and nutrition security and capacity development, advocacy, and empowerment. Food and nutrition security is a key thematic area for development programs in Pakistan.
FDO with technical and financial assistance from WHH, is implementing a project entitled as “Building Resilience through Improved Food and Nutrition Security” in 2 Union Councils of District Muzaffargarh. Core objective of the project is “To contribute to building resilience through improved food and nutrition security among small-holder farming households”.
The project aims to improve the food and nutrition situation for the most vulnerable, particularly women and children, through multi-sectoral, integrated approaches and linking nutrition-sensitive with nutrition-specific interventions; while investing in the resilience of at-risk communities and local authorities through strategies to enable anticipation and preparedness
Purpose of the Consultancy / Services:
The consultancy aims to facilitate consultative workshops to explore horizontal and vertical coordination for early warning information dissemination among relevant stakeholders and farming communities & devising basic communication routes, and communication modes/tools.
Scope of Work:
The consultant will be responsible for leading the design, facilitation, and documentation of the consultative workshops through the following phases: Pre-workshop, during workshop, and post-workshop. Key responsibilities, including conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), are outlined in each phase below.
