Summary of Key Functions:
The Safe Home Warden supports the day-to-day functioning of the Safe Home through direct engagement with residents and supervision of daily routines. Working in 12-hour shifts and alternate weekends, Wardens ensure residents’ well-being, provide basic psychosocial support, maintain cleanliness and order, and respond to emergencies when needed. The position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills, awareness of protection protocols, and the ability to handle conflict or crises calmly and professionally.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Resident Management and Supervision
• Ensure a secure and supportive environment within the Safe Home.
• Supervise daily routines and resident activities, ensuring order and structure.
• Maintain logbooks and incident reports for each shift.
• Monitor residents’ participation in routines, including education and hygiene.
• Ensure proper upkeep of the physical environment.
Resident Care and Support
• Provide emotional support and maintain open communication with residents.
• Identify and report special needs or concerns to the Coordinator.
• Coordinate with relevant staff or UNHCR partners for referrals and services.
Administration and Compliance
• Submit shift reports and maintain clear records of significant activities.
• Assist in inventory checks (supplies, hygiene items, etc.).
• Enforce house rules and promote respectful behaviour among residents.
• Comply with organisational policies, SoPs, and Safe Home rules.
Communication and Coordination
• Maintain close coordination with the Coordinator and other Wardens for shift handovers.
• Liaise with relevant UNHCR personnel as needed for protection support.
• Escalate any emergencies, safety concerns, or sensitive cases without delay.
Other Duties
• Perform any relevant tasks assigned by the Safe Home Coordinator or senior management.
• Support special activities (e.g. training sessions, events) as required.

Key Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, or any relevant field (preferred, not mandatory).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in care work, community-based support, or shelter management.
• Strong observational and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in long shifts and handle night duties.
• Knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV) and protection protocols.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and during emergencies.
• Fluency in Urdu; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
• Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including weekends.
