Job Description:

The Social Mobilizer / Hygiene Promoter will be responsible for mobilizing communities, promoting hygiene practices, supporting behavior change, and ensuring community participation in all project activities related to Gender Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), especially in flood-affected areas

Main Responsibilities:

Community Mobilization:

  • Engage with communities to raise awareness about project objectives and activities.
  • Form and facilitate Community-Based Committees or WASH
  • Educate communities on handwashing, safe water use, menstrual hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Distribute IEC material and hygiene kits, and guide on proper usage
Assesment and Monitoring:
  •   Assist in conducting baseline and endline surveys related to WASH behavior.
  •   Report daily/weekly on outreach activities and community feedback.
  •   Identify and report disease outbreaks or WASH-related issues in the field.
  • Coordinate with local leaders, schools, and health facilities for awareness campaigns.
Coordination:
  • Support in organizing community-level events, trainings, and sessions
Documentation:
  •   Maintain records of participants, sessions conducted, and kit distribution.
  •   Share human interest stories and case studies from the field
