Background
An international NGO works with local partners to save lives, promote human dignity, and advocate for justice in contexts of poverty, inequality, and climate vulnerability. In Pakistan, NCA focuses on climate resilience, gender justice, WASH, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response, working closely with faith-based and civil society partners.
Strategic communication is a core enabler for organization's mission, strengthening visibility, mobilizing public engagement, ensuring donor compliance, and amplifying community voices. The Communication Consultant will backstop the Joint Country Fund Raising Manager to lead the Pakistan’s communication portfolio, ensuring alignment with the global organziation communication framework and country strategic priorities, with particular emphasis on social media, digital visibility, and storytelling for advocacy and fundraising.
Purpose of the Position
The Communication Consultant will co-lead the design and implementation of organizations communication and visibility strategy, enhance brand positioning, manage media and public engagement, and strengthen digital and social media presence. The role bridges advocacy, program impact communication, and donor visibility, ensuring that stories of transformation reach audiences at local, national, and global levels.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation and Storytelling
- Produce success stories, photo essays, and multimedia materials.
- Coordinate with field teams for donor visibility content.
- Oversee publications, newsletters, and visibility materials.
- Ensure gender-sensitive and dignified storytelling.
Strategic Communication & Branding
- Lead and support the development and execution of NCA Pakistan’s Communication and Visibility Strategy.
- Ensure consistent and high-quality messaging across all channels.
- Develop annual communication work plans and budgets.
- Provide inputs into proposals, reports, and advocacy materials
Media Relations
- Maintain relationships with journalists and media houses.
- Prepare press releases and media briefs.
- Organize media visits and press events.
- Track media coverage and manage reputation risks
Digital and Social Media Management
- Design and implement a social media strategy.
- Manage platforms (LinkedIn +).
- Create engaging multimedia content and monitor analytics.
- Train staff and partners on ethical social media use.
Donor Visibility and Compliance
- Develop visibility plans for donor-funded projects.
- Ensure adherence to donor branding guidelines.
- Support donor campaigns and provide inputs for donor reports.
Internal Communication and Capacity Building
- Facilitate internal communication tools.
- Train staff and partners in photography, writing, and storytelling.
- Support Country Director in preparing strategic messages.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in communications, preferably with INGOs.
- Strong experience in social media management and digital campaigns.
- Proven skills in storytelling, media relations, and donor visibility.
- Excellent English and Urdu writing skills; local languages an asset.
- Proficiency with multimedia tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.).
- Strategic and creative communicator with narrative impact.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Digitally literate and adaptive to emerging trends.
Duration of Consultancy
