JOB SUMMARY:
Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) is the key front-line healthcare providers in the project, responsible for delivering Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH) services to Afghan refugee and host communities in Pishin and Killa Saifullah. Their role is essential in ensuring women and adolescent girls have access to safe, respectful, and quality healthcare, particularly in culturally sensitive and underserved settings.
Job Description:
- Deliver antenatal care (ANC) and postnatal care (PNC).
- Support family planning counseling and service provision.
- Provide post-abortion care (PAC) and general reproductive health support.
- Ensure safe delivery practices and promote facility-based childbirth.
- Refer women and girls showing signs of mental distress to facility-based psychologists.
- Support joint activities like group counselling sessions, awareness campaigns, and referrals from Community Welfare Committees (CWCs). Need base
- Educate women during routine check-ups on Nutrition (especially mother and child), Breastfeeding and new-born care, Menstrual hygiene and safe practices.
- Support in the distribution and tracking of Clean Delivery Kits, New born Baby Kits & ANC/PNC/PAC supplies and equipment
- Maintain close collaboration with Community Mobilizers for referrals.
- Ensure timely, confidential, and respectful referrals to Women-Friendly Spaces (WFS) and other support services (GBV, legal aid, psychosocial care).
- Maintain accurate client records, ensure data entry in patient registers.
- Contribute to service utilization reports, client satisfaction surveys, and data quality audits.
- Any other task assigned by the Supervisor
- Must be a local of the area in which the exercise is being conducted
- Must understand the structure and workings of the primary, secondary, and tertiary level facilities.
- Must be able to travel extensively within the targeted tehsil, with some travel (10%) required outside the tehsil as well.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of conducting surveys, data collection exercises in the reproductive health/family planning sector.
