Job Description:

The roles and responsibilities for this position includes but not limited to:

Manager Finance shall serve as the key functional supervisor of the activities undertaken by the F&A department on day-to-day basis. Playing key support role for the CFO, the Manager Finance shall be responsible for:

• Assisting the CFO in the development and implementation of financial policies and strategies;
• Proposing addition(s) to or modification(s) in the design and operating effectiveness of accounting and financial reporting controls within the geographical and functional set-up;
• Ensuring achievement of department’s performance objectives;
• Preparing quarterly and annual planning and budgeting activities from initiation through to finalization and authorization by the BoD;
• Making budget revisions in accordance with the guidance provided by the CFO;
• Generating reliable financial reports for internal management reporting, statutory reporting and donor reporting in accordance with applicable reporting frameworks and regulations;
• Assisting the CFO in conducting financial evaluation of various projects and initiatives proposed by the management and BoD;
• Assisting the CFO in the identification and analysis of investment options;
• Managing the support to be provided by the F&A department to the Resource Mobilization department in the preparation of funding proposals including preparation of reliable and accurate proposal budgets, preparing responses to the queries raised by the potential donor(s) during the proposal evaluation stages by developing narrative explanations and incorporating revisions in accordance with donor requirements and guidance provided by the CFO;
• Supporting the CFO during negotiations with the banks and financial institutions with the purpose of arranging funds and various banking facilities;
• Supporting the CFO in conducting funding Gap Analysis on a quarterly basis through consultation with the Resource Mobilization department and under the guidance of CEO;
• Preparing cash planning reports, prepared on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
• Conducting the periodic evaluation, update and/ or addition of ERP modules, relevant to the day-to-day operations of F&A department;
• Supervising the provision of adequate and timely support to the internal and external auditors during the various stages of respective audits;
• Participating in the meetings with internal and external auditors on various aspects of their functional domains;
• Conducting performance evaluation of sub-ordinate finance staff and making recommendations for staff remuneration and rewards to the CFO;
• Preparing statutory returns in accordance with applicable regulations;
• Preparing bank reconciliation statement(s) for authorization by the CFO;
• Reviewing and recommending authorization of vouchers and cheques;
• Running financial reporting close on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
• Authorizing positing of transactions in the ERP modules;
• Allocating work responsibilities amongst Assistant Manager - F&A, SFOs, and DFOs; and
• Performing any other task/ duty assigned by the CFO.

Qualification & Experience

Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university and Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting management within a reputable organization, preferably in the development Sector.
