MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER

Location: Head Office, Lahore - with extensive travel to field sites across Pakistan

Reporting to: Manager Programmes

Position Type: Full-time

  1. 1.     Purpose of the Role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for ensuring robust oversight and evidence-based improvement across all programme areas implemented by Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust (AMWT). These include, but are not limited to, orphan care, health services, education, water projects, community kitchens, and other initiatives run by AMWT. The role involves developing effective monitoring systems, collecting reliable data, supporting donor reporting, and contributing to organisational learning through documentation of outcomes and best practices.

  1. 2.     Key Responsibilities

1.               Monitoring and Field Oversight

  • Design and implement monitoring frameworks and field visit plans for all programme areas.
  • Conduct regular site visits to orphan families, schools, hospitals, water installations, vocational centres, and Dastarkhwans to assess project quality, beneficiary satisfaction, and compliance.
  • Ensure timely verification and documentation of key project indicators including child well-being, school attendance, patient feedback, installation functionality, and nutritional quality.
  • Provide real-time feedback to relevant programme staff and managers based on field findings.
  • Maintain a centralised M&E database that consolidates information across projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry, validation, and analysis.
  • Develop concise, high-quality donor reports, dashboards, case studies, and infographics that reflect programme impact.
  • Assist teams in baseline and endline surveys, needs assessments, and beneficiary profiling.
  • Regularly track KPIs and flag implementation gaps to programme leads.
  • Support programme staff in developing indicators, logframes, and data tools for new and ongoing projects.
  • Conduct training sessions for field and programme staff on data collection protocols, reporting formats, and accountability standards.
  • Coordinate with IT or MIS teams to digitize reporting where applicable.
  • Promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making within programme teams.
  • Ensure that safeguarding, Do No Harm, and data protection principles are upheld in all M&E activities.
  • Coordinate with child protection focal persons to integrate safeguarding checks in field monitoring.
  • Establish routine beneficiary feedback loops, including surveys and community-based reporting channels.
  • Ensure compliance with donor M&E frameworks and reporting timelines.

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
  • Proven skills in designing data collection tools, field verification, data visualization, and donor reporting.
  • Strong analytical and writing abilities in both English and Urdu.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal communication skills, especially with beneficiaries, community stakeholders, and field staff.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to remote locations across Pakistan.
  • Initial contract for one year, extendable based on performance and programme needs.
  • Competitive salary package based on experience and qualifications.
  • Position based in Lahore, with frequent travel to field offices and project locations across the country.
