Civil Society Human & Institutional Development Programme (CHIP-NPO) is a value led organization that has made its mark in the development sector all over Pakistan. We are looking for enthusiastic/energetic candidate/s for the below mentioned position.

Youth Engagement Officer (at Layyah)

• Bachelor degree in business or related field of study.
• Three years’ experience in social mobilisation and managing community-based organisations.
• Familiar with basic concept of youth engagement/social mobilization;
• Should have demonstrated willingness to learn and work with youth and community members for sustainable development;
• Should be able to spend extended periods with communities.
• Excellent oratory skills in local language. Knowledge of English language will be an advantage.

The required skill set includes:

A. Youth recruitment and GYM clubs’ formation:
• Identify youth participants according to the role profile shared by the British Council through different recruitment strategies.
• Facilitate the process of formation Green Youth Movement clubs in the communities through elections.

B. Operationalise GYM clubs in local communities through project planning approach:
• Facilitate GYM leadership in developing their workplans and YLA projects.
• Facilitate resolution of dispute, conflicts between individuals and among members of GYM clubs.
• Provide necessary reporting inputs to the MEL officer as per the standard monitoring formats on regular basis.
• Provide mentoring support to YLA teams under the GYM clubs.

C. Reporting and Linkages
• Assist Project manager in development of a clear work plan for PYLI project implementation.
• Support district coordinators in implementing training calendars and other events.
• Capture success stories and lessons learned during implementation.
• Support MEL officer in preparing monthly and quarterly reports.

Computer skills and good verbal and written communication preferred. Priority would be given to persons having command on English, Urdu and Punjabi/Siraiki languages. Work Experience in an NGO/INGO would be preferred. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Able to work independently and work as a team and commitment to comply with the mission and values of CHIP;
• Being from the project area/having lived and worked in the project area is an added advantage;
• Commitment to follow Human Rights and ensure protection principles in all project activities;
• Willingness to learn and ability to work efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of people;
• Willing to travel to CHIP field areas;

Fixed Term - 10 months

Job Location
Islamabad and Layyah with possible travel to other project areas of CHIP
